Multiple Flash- Techniques Pages
To achieve more of an advantage when dealing with multiple flash, the studio should be used and made as dark as possible. A black backdrop can also be used to place more of a focus on the subject within the image. The camera should be locked down on a tripod or something similar in order to avoid movement within the shooting process. The camera should be set to 'B'. You should instruct the subject to move throughout the frame. The shutter button of the camera needs to be held throughout the frame while the flash is fired multiple times. It is important not to overuse the flash as the image may become too bright as a result. The shutter should be released when the image you have captured your required image. It is also important not too hold the button for too long otherwise the image may become too bright.
Slow Synch- Technique Page
Slow sync is a technique that tends to work better with the use of a studio. Firstly, the camera setting should be set to an aperture which can match the exposure of any lights that are required during this shoot. This will help ensure that the image is not too bright as a result. A slower shutter speed needs to be selected in order to capture the range of movement that is required to create blur. After the image begins capturing, the subject should be encouraged to complete their rang of movement. As the flash goes off the subject's starting position should be frozen with the trail of movement being tracked until the image is captured.
Blurring- Techniques Page
Set the ISO onto the lowest number possible. The next step is to put the camera onto shutter priority mode. Then begin to turn the shutter speed down to reach the desired effect. After the camera is set with the appropriate settings you can begin shooting. There are many factors within the image to consider when creating a blur effect. You can move the camera yourself or you could even photograph with objects moving within the frame depending on what type of desired effect you wish to achieve. Lighting should also be considered as the image can appear very dark in the wrong conditions and very bright in others.
Multiple Imagery- Technique Page
For the shoot, a series of images should be chosen in order to create the multiple imagery. Once all of the required images have been selected, place them into photoshop. Create a new image with the appropriate size for what you want to accomplish. Drag the new image out of the row. Size each image appropriately and begin placing them in the new image. Then start arranging the images into rows that are required. Size them more accurately by using the zoom tool. Once the images are aligned in the way that you want drag the new image into the row with the other images and crop any excess.
Animation-Techniques Page
When creating an animation you should use photoshop and place the required images in the order that they will appear within the animation. The first step is to adjust the image size of 20cm width and 13.5, with a resolution of 72 pixels/inch. The next step will be to create a new page and to begin layering the image in order of the correct sequence. The next step should be dropping the new page into photoshop again in order to begin the animation process. Open 'window' 'timeline' in order to manage all of the layers on a timeline. Click the 'Create frame animation'. Select the 'new frame' option for the number of layers which you have. begin hiding different layers of the image, only leaving the layer that is required visible. Finally the repetition of the image should be set to forever.
Techniques Page- Sequencing
In order to create a successful sequence image you need to use a tripod. The camera should remain locked down once the correct framing has been achieved and should not be moved throughout the rest of the shoot. It is important to take one image of the background without the subject within the frame. The subject of the image should be photographed moving throughout the frame. Once the shoot has finished, there should be multiple images. During the editing process, the blank slate should be used for the base of the image. Begin pasting the other images over the base image, removing the background surrounding the subject in order to ensure the images do not overlap. It is important to match up the image the position within the base image in order to make the effect appear convincing. If there are any images that do not match with the brightness of the base image, adjust this using the brightness and contrast tool.
High Key Image Bank
This image appears as very minimalistic. The only visible components of the image are seen to the right of the frame as the couple hold each other lovingly. This effect causes a contrast to form between the people and their background. The only thing that the audience should be aware of are the people within the image. This reflects how the couple only care about one another, forgetting everything else in the world.
This image features a low angle of a tall building. The use of high key imagery within the image causes certain tones to blend seamlessly into each other. The blend at the peak of the skyscraper causes the building to appear endless in the grey sky.
This image features a leopard sitting in a tree, overlooking emptiness from a tree. The association of the animal and its natural habitat contrast extremely with the cleaness of the background. As a result, the subject pops against the background instead of blending into the similar tones of its habitat, standing out to audiences.
This image features a small boat sailing across a calm river. The effect of the high key imagery causes the image to appear somewhat soothing as the boat calmly makes it way across the clean river. There is not much background action to disrupt this peaceful imagery. The image can also raise connotations of loneliness against an endless void if you look from another perspective.
This image features a wedding photo as the bride and groom make their way into the reception where their friends are located. Without high key lighting, the image may appear bland, or fairly standard. With the effect of high key lighting, the image appears dreamlike, trading in any pointless background for a vast whiteness which adds more focus to be drawn on the couple and their friends on their special day.
This image is a fairly straightforward portrait of a man smoking a cigarette. However, the use of high key lighting causes contrasts on the face of the person in a way that makes him stand out more from the background. The effect also gives the man a smoother skin tone, removing a lot of wrinkles and other impurities in the process.
